50k in points that is! I just noticed and am very surprised actually. That might not be a lot to you - but to me it is the world! I see other members with half a million points and wonder how they have time to keep up with all of that! It seems that everyone is here (on AR) for a different reason - yet the same reason (if that makes any sense)
1. we are ALL here to promote and grow our business. I've read the success stories, so I know it is working for some of us! I have a few AR client referrals I am working with, and I'll be posting my own success story as soon as I close them :)
2. most of us are here to keep the public informed. We post of things happening in the community - and reasons why they want to move here :) and we keep them informed of the market condition. (some of us have more time than others and come up with amazing market reports - PLEASE don't look at mine, they are 'in Bob Stewart's eyes' pretty much lame and worthless, and they really piss him off. Sorry. I have good days and bad, lol. I'll try to do better from now on.
3. the search engine optimizationis amaz-ahh-shizzle - zing! (sorry - SnoopDog was just on MTV...guess it rubbed off on me) I use a lot of web tools/rank checkers/optimization stuff..... and my AR posts are ranking higher than some of the local real estate companies that have been around forever. :) Not just that - but consumers are 'clicking through' to my website :D (big smile!!) Thank you RainMakers!
4. the social /business networking -- which goes back to number 1 - business growth. We are learning from eachother, sharing information, stories, etc... When I need an agent in another area, Active Rain is the first place I look. I am able to tell if you are a positive person - or a negative person....and other character traits to help me match up an agent for my relocating client. Believe me - your personality reads through very clear. I may not be the social butterfly like (you know the ones) - or owner of the golden pen (the ones who no matter what they write has a gold star next to it), but I am here in the rain, getting my feet wet with the rest of you and I love it :)
... so, there are a few of the reasons.... I know there are more, but that is all the time I have right now.

I can only assume you were kidding. They don't piss me off, they just confuse the heck out of me. (of course that's only if you are just putting numbers on your reports). I just think that if you aren't using your expertise to interpret the numbers for your readers you are doing them a disservice.
But like I said, I could be completely wrong and leaving the interpretation out could lead to more inquiries...........
(with age I've learned to know I'm always right about 60% of the time, hahaha)

Well, Gene. 50K. That's a mile stone I'm still striving at. It didn't help that I got busy and didn't stop by here for almost six months. But, I'm back at it and getting closer every day.
I enjoy the SEO and rankings part but mostly I enjoy the give and take among related professions, though it can be downright addictive.
